UK Première.

With the vaquita porpoise on the brink of extinction, two brothers who collaborate as wildlife artists leave their studio behind and head to a small fishing town in Mexico. They board the M/V Farley Mowat to experience the front-line fight between ocean conservationists Sea Shepherd and the poachers, backed by the Mexican cartel, who are devastating countless marine species. Caught up in a tale of greed and corruption, they witness a battle that seems all but lost. Can they use their craft to take action amidst today’s Sixth Mass Extinction?

Ed Harrison is a designer and visual storyteller, passionate about people and the planet. The Last Vaquita is the first film he has directed. He is co-founder of Under the Skin with his brother James. The brothers launched this creative platform in their mission to shine a light on the most endangered species around the globe.

“I find too many hard-hitting documentaries on the environmental crisis leave audiences feeling disheartened and powerless. It is easy to feel overwhelmed when faced with such challenges. It is my view that for us to succeed, every one of us must feel empowered to take positive action for our planet.”
